Why Rinse?

Over 15 years of studies have proven that simply rinsing a carb-solution around your mouth for 5-10 seconds will elicit an instantaneous power boost by activating the motivation/reward centers of the brain. Rinse is a direct and uncompromising reflection of this body of robust research, and is both organic and sugar/caffeine free.

For any workout up to approx 90 min, your body does not require, or benefit from, additional carbohydrates as you have sufficient glycogen (carbohydrate) stores to sustain exercise of this duration.

As the body will always utilize its own stores first, there is no benefit to performance by eating or drinking until these stores are depleted. In other words, the energy bar before crossfit, the sports drink before a spin class or even the banana we grab before hitting a 5-mile run is not necessary.

Directions: 3 Steps to Instant Energy

  1. RINSE: Starting at the beginning of your workout, rinse for 5-10 seconds
  2. DRINK: Drink for added hydration.
  3. REPEAT: Repeat approx every 15min. Each bottle contains 4 rinses, designed to fuel 1 hour of exercise.

For exercise up to 90 min:
Carb-rinsing will give you a physical boost and can be relied on as your sole source of fuel for short duration exercise.

For exercise greater than 90 min:
Use in combination with a traditional fueling strategy. At this stage your body has begun to deplete its own glycogen stores and it is necessary to replenish by eating/drinking exogenous carbohydrates. Since carbohydrate ingestion takes 20 min at a minimum to be digested and have any performance effect, carb-rinsing is a tactical tool to be used when energy is required instantaneously.

These little miracle bottles have saved me so many times from fatigue and a work out slump in the middle of a run or long hike. The science behind it is really cool, and I had my doubts it would work, but it's a quick little kick to my energy reserves that I need. TSA friendly too! Has even helped stave off that jet laggy been-on-a-plane-too-long headache that creeps up, similar effects for long hours at my computer, even though I know that's not how it's supposed to be used! Highly recommend. My favorite flavor is peach mango - chilled is best.

My teammate Luke and I started rinsing on the bench during our ice hockey games - Suddenly all our teammates wanted to know what was in our "funny little bottles". We laugh and explain they are shaped to fit into a cycling or tri kit! But once we explain the science of rinsing and how we use it during games - they always want to try it.
